Designed in a video game style, inspired by games like Borderlands and Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead. A lot of time was spent figuring out how to work remotely in a pandemic, while delivering physical props with as little contact as possible. It was ultimately canceled right before opening due to technical setbacks on the streaming end, but helped establish protocols moving forward with other shows.

Inspired by the current state of Venezuela, this production was set to go up in late March of 2020. Staged relatively modern, with the props focusing on trash and objects being converted into other objects. We did a lot of working with LEDs and lighting to make the gods and monsters seem more fanciful.

First Opera production, and first time working with a full shop at my disposal. Learned a lot about management, working with other artisans, and learning that everything didn’t have to rely on me. Props were generally minimal, but the few pieces that we had were very detailed, and had to capture the scenes that they were in.

My first production out of my undergraduate program. It was a challenge working with a long distance scenic designer, and working with a more limited stock and budget than what I was used to back at WWU. I learned a lot about renting props, saving costs, and working temporary for a small theatre company.

The first of the shows I managed during WWU’s 2016 Summer Season. I had previously never done a season that was stacked up like that, and I learned a lot about time management, organization, and working with multiple people simultaneously.

World Premiere production by Canadian playwright Elaine Avila, this was my first production as a properties director, and was a strong learning curve. There were a lot of abstract moments that needed to be brought into reality.
