A simple, poplar side table. Made to be part of an illusion that I designed for a class. This was my first attempt at using pocket hole joints. Finished with wipe on poly.
Four turned poplar stools, all turnings done by myself and two other artisans. Followed a design picked out by a fellow artisan. The stools were then stained, then the tips spray painted gold. Leather was then applied to the tops with contact cement.
A simple folding stool made of poplar. Legs were attached to the top via mortise and tenon with a wedge. Legs were secured to each other by carriage bolts. The whole unit was then stained. This was my first attempt at mortise and tenon.
A more technical look at the Mortise and Tenon for a class exercise.
First time using the lathe. Designed the look and scale of the legs myself, and worked to make the two match.
Exercise in hand-working down the natural curve of a cabriole leg. The base shape was cut out on the bandsaw, the foot turned on the lathe, and the rest shaved down.
